For Home School Families

SS John & Paul Parish seeks to actively support Catholic and Christian families who have been called by God to provide both academic and religious education for their children at home, rather than at public or private schools. We encourage the involvement of Home Schooling families in all our programs, especially our Faith Formation and Outreach programs. We also provide meeting space for the "North Pittsburgh Catholic Home Schoolers" organization, and for Home School supplemental programs such as Little Flowers and Blue Knights and the "Catholic Home School Co-op." For more information on the North Pittsburgh Catholic Home Schoolers, an independent organization which is not limited to SS John & Paul parishioners, and is open to any interested family in the area,  click here for more information.

The Diocese of Pittsburgh also supports home school families in the area of Faith Formation.  For more information click here to see the Diocesan document "Faith Education in the Home," which provides useful information for home school families.

Those seeking Catholic Elementary schools are invited to consider:
Saint Alphonsus, Saint Alexis, Saint Sebastian, Saint James, Mount Gallitzin, Good Samaritan, Saint Teresa of  Avila, Alpha School, or Aquinas Academy.

High School Students are invited to consider:  North Catholic, Vincentian-Duquesne, Quigley, Oakland Catholic, or Central Catholic.  In the case of diocesan (parish) schools, families will pay no more tuition than those registered in the sponsoring parish.

Catholic Schools

Saint Alexis Catholic School continues to educate students with a highly academic learning atmosphere and heightened Catholic identity. The Computer Lab makes it possible to provide students in K-8th levels with an integrated technology curriculum. All students receive instruction in Spanish. The Extended Day Program offers an informal, relaxing, and enriching time for students after their busy school day. Activities are age-appropriate. Saint Alexis is host to the St. Anthony School, which provides an inclusive educational opportunity to help special needs children learn, grow, and succeed. Please contact us at school@stalexis.org or call Chris at 724-772-3146. You can also visit www.stalexis.org.

St. Alphonsus School is one of the largest parish, Catholic elementary schools in the Diocese of Pittsburgh serving students in Kindergarten through Grade 8. Because of its location on the northern end of Wexford, PA., St. Alphonsus serves the communities of Wexford, Cranberry, Pine-Richland, Mars, Ambridge, and Seneca Valley. With a fully qualified and certified staff of 1 religious, 22 full time and 2 part time lay teachers, St. Alphonsus offers a curriculum of academic excellence nurtured in a Catholic faith community. The blend of this longstanding tradition, coupled with the needs of today's children who live in progressive society, characterizes our presence and our mission.
