Catechists/Volunteers SS John & Paul Parish has over 200 catechists, helpers, and other volunteers who are active in catechetical ministries for adults and children! These volunteers make all our excellent Faith Formation programs possible. Catechists and helpers who make a commitment to regular ministry enjoy many spiritual and material rewards! Persons who are considering becoming a catechist or volunteer in Faith Formation ministry are asked to click on "Catechists and Helpers: Qualifications and Rewards" below. All new catechists and helpers in Children's Faith Formation participate in a personalized orientation session. Each year, all catechists (new and experienced) also attend catechist in-service events. Catechists are also encouraged to become certified by the Diocese of Pittsburgh (optional) and to participate in Adult Faith Formation opportunities.
