LEGISLATIVE ALERT:

The Pennsylvania Catholic Conference of Bishops have requested our action: Please send a message to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), telling them that you do not support the interim final rule on preventive services (76 Fed. Reg. 46621) that would require health plans to cover prescription contraceptives, sterilization, and related patient education and counseling.

The narrow and incomplete definition of "religious employer" in these regulations excludes religious organizations and would force them to participate in something that violates their beliefs, compromises their religious mission and interferes with constitutional rights of conscience.

HHS needs to hear from you NOW, as they are collecting comments this month. The deadline for submission of comments is September 30, 2011.
