Confirmation Candidates and Parents
SS John & Paul Parish's Confirmation Meeting for both parents and candidates (students currently in grade 8) will be held on Monday, March 21, 2011, at 7:00 PM in the Upper Hall of the Cardinal DiNardo Center. At this meeting you will learn about the Sacrament of Confirmation and our preparation process, including a two-day on-site retreat model and the alternate Home-Study Model with a one-day retreat at Gilmary Retreat Center.

Please note that this meeting is a required part of our Confirmation Preparation process for both parent and child -- Please attend if at all possible. For those who cannot attend, call Kate at 724-935-2104, extension 223, to arrange a make-up meeting.

Confirmation Preparation Models
There are two Confirmation Preparation models to choose from:

Two Day Parish Retreat (on-site) – June 13 and 14, 2011

OR

Home-Study –  In this preparation model, the student and a parent (or their Confirmation sponsor) watch the Bishop Zubik DVD at home on their own schedule, and then complete & return the student workbook. In addition to the DVD, students are required to attend a ONE day retreat at Gilmary. The Gilmary Retreat is being held on:

• Saturday, August 13, 2011  - Candidates will meet at Saints John and Paul at 9:00 AM & candidates will travel by bus to Gilmary for their retreat experience and will  end the day celebrating the 5:00 PM Mass at Saints John and Paul.

Registrations
Registrations for a Confirmation preparation model will be accepted during the Candidate and Parent meeting on March 21, 2011, at 7:00 PM. Please come prepared to register for either the Two Day Retreat or the Home-Study model at that time. Registration forms will be distributed during the meeting.  There is a $60 Confirmation fee that should accompany the registration form. Please note that NO candidate will be turned away in the event of financial hardships. Please see Kate Bianco for further information.

Catholic School Families
PLEASE NOTE:  Parents of Catholic School students who wish to receive Confirmation at our parish, should call the Faith Formation Office. 

Also, adults and older teens who missed out on Confirmation may also be able to prepare for and receive Confirmation in the Fall.  Please call Kate at Ext. 223 for details.
