eucharistic
holy hour
Nothing is more fundamental to the Catholic Christian faith then our belief in the true presence of Christ in the Holy Eucharistic. This is so fundamental and foundational in the Catholic faith that Eucharist is a Sacrament of Initiation. For us, Jesus is present under the appearance of bread and wine, body, blood, soul and divinity.
Because of this deep faith and fundamental truth adoration of Our Lord in the Holy Eucharist is a long-standing tradition. Saints and mystics throughout history have practiced and promoted this prayer form of Eucharistic Adoration. Many parish communities throughout the world have been transformed by the faithful taking turns praying before the Blessed Sacrament. The great orator, Archbishop Fulton Sheen, preached the daily Holy Hour and witnessed to its power and effectiveness in his own personal practice.
| The faithful of Sts. John and Paul always have available to them the opportunity to pray before Our Lord in the Tabernacle. Each day access to the Church is available, if not through the main doors of the upper lever, then through the lower office level of our building. In our new church we have plans to provide for a grotto chapel which will be accessible 24 hours a day for prayer and Eucharistic Adoration. In the meantime, each First Friday of the month we begin with Holy Mass at 8:00 PM, followed by All Night Adoration, and conclude on Saturday morning with Morning Prayer and Benediction at 8:45 AM. If you have never experienced the “quiet peace” and invigoration of prayer before Our Lord in the Holy Eucharist we invite you to join us. There is also an organized Holy Hour on Tuesday Afternoons from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. |
