As a gift to Father Mac commemorating his 25th anniversary as a priest in 2012, Saints John & Paul created the Alice McCaffrey Scholarship Fund for Seminarians (currently accepting donations). It is being managed by The Pittsburgh Foundation, which is one of the nation’s oldest and largest community foundations. The current fund balance is over $200,000 from which yearly awards are granted to qualifying seminarians who seek to enrich their education and formation with a pastoral experience.
In the past four years, five seminarians from four dioceses have received $19,500 that funded their experiences from Alaska to Texas to Pennsylvania. They have worked among the poor with the Missionaries of Charity in Ethiopia to the pilgrims of Santiago in Spain to the poor of Juneau and Fairbanks, Alaska. These experiences have enriched the lives of future priests which will bear much fruit for the people they will serve.
Electronic donations to the Fund can be made via our page at The Pittsburgh Foundation website.
Checks must be made out to The Pittsburgh Foundation with a memo line of “Alice McCaffrey Scholarship Fund.” They can be given to Marilyn Schroeder in the Parish Office; put in the parish collection at any time; or mailed directly to the foundation at:

Please keep an eye out for future events!
To know Alice was to love her and instantly admire her for her love of church, her love of others, her positive attitude, her selflessness, her willingness to accept God’s plan, and her devotion to the priesthood. What better way to honor her memory than through the support of seminarians?
Sincerely,
The Parish Pastoral Council of Saints John & Paul
