What is Confirmation?

The Sacrament of Confirmation increases and deepens the grace already received in Baptism with a new outpouring of Holy Spirit.  The Spirit gives each of us a unique set of gifts and charisms to help us build up the Body of Christ and share our faith with others.

Do you know what your unique set of gifts and charisms is?  If not, try this online Spiritual Gifts Inventory.

Confirmation Preparation

The Bishop administers this sacrament in the fall of the 9th grade year, and he chooses the date.  We expect to be informed of our date by September—typically just a few months in advance.  We sincerely apologize for the difficulty this presents for planning and making travel arrangements.

To be eligible for Confirmation, students must have completed 7th and 8th grade Faith Formation, including CVOL.  If you have not completed these, you will need to meet with a Staff Member to discuss an appropriate type of formation plan prior to Confirmation.

The Formation Process

Preliminary Paperwork (to be completed by June 1)

Diocesan Confirmation Curriculum (to be completed by September 1)

Formative Experiences (to be completed by October 31)

Final Preparations

  • Submit a Letter to Fr. Mac by October 31
  • Attend Rehearsal and the Confirmation Mass
